The Waterside Collection: "Mountain Fishing" 9x12
I am fascinated with fishing, and people who love it. I have only gone fishing a handful of times. I was a small child the first time I went fishing, at our family cabin on the Alapaha River by with my brother, father & grandfather. I caught a brim; it was absolutely thrilling! I suppose that is what keeps people fishing, the thrill of the catch, and bonding with nature. With my first catch we actually had a fish fry, so contributing dinner was also very satisfying.
The layers of color, sunshine, shadows, shades and textures build the rich tones of the Sky Valley mountain, sky, water and trees in this piece. This painting brings an impactful piece of the outdoors into the space where it hangs — frame it simply or elaborately, there is no need for glass.
May this painting bring you the thrill of the catch, the peaceful bonding with nature that fishing evokes.
Created as a part of The Waterside Collection that came from my year-long quest to gain portability in my art practice and delve into nature.
An original acrylic & oil painting. Natural & non-toxic pigment on flat, un-stretched cotton canvas (9x12). This original is ready to gift or frame, packaged with protective cellophane & card board that may be used as a backing with an open frame of your choice.
