The Waterside Collection: "Post Hurricane"

When you live in Florida, you encounter hurricane warnings, evacuations, hurricane parties and all the preparation, vulnerability, uncertainty brought by the threat of natural disaster. This painting depicts the day after one such weather event that brought a group of family & friends - parents, teens, toddlers, grandparents - to a lake house gathering including music, food, pets, games, laughter, spontaneity and, of course, water. This painting brings the hurricane party adventure into any space where it hangs — frame it simply or elaborately, there is no need for glass.

Created as a part of The Waterside Collection that came from my year-long quest to gain portability in my art practice and delve into nature.
